Sahara’s Song is a story that interweaves a variety of scientific and spiritual subjects together. I’ll let you sort out the spiritual inferences on your own, but for those that are curious about the science involved and if it’s at all possible—this page is for you.

Is the weapon built in Sahara’s Song  possible?

I will put a disclaimer here stating I am not a scientist-- and if you’re a terrorist or part of a secret government agency who might think I have come up with something that can be used by terrorists then NO…it’s not possible...really…honest…couldn’t happen, no way! But if you are just a reader who likes to sort out the science in science thrillers then you may just have fun trying to prove it couldn’t work, in theory, of course. (Hint: I’ve left the gas out of the description of the resonant cavity, but you might need it.)

Here are some links about directed energy weapon technology if you’d like to research further:

A small sampling of DOD contracts for directed energy weapon research :

“Envisioneering Inc., King George, Va., is being awarded a $5,295,335 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for engineering and technical support services in infrared and electronic Optical Areas.  The effort is for ship signature control, electro-optical and radio frequency countermeasures, specific emitter identification systems, and high power microwave and directed energy weapons.”

“Conceptual MindWorks, San Antonio, Texas, is being awarded a $6,999,948 cost plus fixed fee contract to provide for research support for the Air Force Research Laboratory, Human Effectiveness Directorate, Directed Energy Bio-effects Division, Radio frequency Radiation Branch (AFRL/HEDR) at Brooks City-Base, Texas. AFRL/HEDRs mission is to determine the health and safety of Air Force personnel exposed to radio frequency radiation, to conduct bioeffects research to determine the effects of emerging directed energy weapons, and to assist in the transitioning of directed energy technologies to the user.”

Project name and number: High Energy Laser Advanced Development PE 0603924D8Z

This program element funds High Energy Laser (HEL) advanced technology development aimed at translating technology solutions for broadly defined military problems into demonstrated performance pay-offs, increased capabilities, increased supportability, or increased affordability. HEL weapons systems have many potential advantages, including speed-of-light time-to-target, high precision, nearly unlimited magazine depth, low cost per kill, and reduced logistics requirements because of no need for stocks of munitions or warheads. As a result, HELs have the potential to perform a wide variety of military missions, including some that are impossible, or nearly so, for conventional weapons. These include interception of ballistic missiles in boost phase, defeat of high-speed, maneuvering anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles, and the ultra-precision negation of targets in urban environments with no collateral damage. Research conducted under this program element develops and demonstrates the technology necessary to enable these and other HEL missions.

Why would I need to worry anyway, it’s not like my DNA is public information, right?

Not yet. But it is only a matter of time before all the DNA databases now being organized will link up and become one massive DNA database with each person’s DNA information logged. They are being created now under the idea that it is for “law enforcement purposes” but how much of a stretch is it to say everyone should have their DNA logged, even if they haven’t committed a crime, so they can be eliminated quickly as a suspect? After all, it wouldn’t be the first invasion of privacy pushed on us as having one purpose and ending up with uses unrelated to the original purpose. (I’m talking about a little thing called the social security number.)

What’s up with Phi?

Phi (1.6180339…) is, in my humble opinion, the closest we humans will ever come to discovering magic, making its nicknames “the Golden Ratio” and “Divine Proportion” well deserved.

In short, when waves of different frequencies interact, it is the Phi ratio that allows for the simultaneous addition and multiplication necessary for these waves to form orderly and harmonic patterns. This quality is needed to pass both communication and memory between scales.

EX: Phi – 1 = 1/Phi = .618…

       Phi + 1 = PhiČ = 2.618…

See how that works? These equations combine addition on the left and multiplication on right providing a point where to add is to multiply and to subtract is to divide. Told you it was magic!

A great book on Phi is The Golden Ratio by Mario Livio

Can sound waves really make plants grow?

Yep. Here’s a quote from Sahara’s Song:

“Light is only a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum just as sound is. Most of us are limited to which waves we can see and which ones we can hear. Plants have no such restrictions, a wave is a wave, be it sound or light.”

Can some people really hear color and see sound?

The answer is YES, it’s called synesthesia. Makes a great case for everything being energy and our brains being naturally limited in what specific information about that energy we can perceive doesn’t it? After all, there is no reason from an evolutionary stand point that we would need to know what the “color” red tastes or smells like. We only need to know that it is attractive to our sense of sight so nature can use it for purposes of attraction such as a red blush to our cheeks or a nutritious red apple.

Here is a Live Science link about synesthesia:

Can we actually control stuff with just our thoughts?

Well, yes. It’s not just science fiction! Take a look:
